1. Say it with flowers

Want to give your loved one a flowery treat? It's especially nice on Valentine's Day. The Blumenhaus zum Dom is a feast for the eyes of every flower lover. Admittedly, you can also find beautiful flower arrangements, fresh-cut flowers, and potted plants here on all other days of the year. If all the vases in your own four walls are already full, it is also worth looking outside the store to see the wonderful flower arrangements and bouquets. Blumenhaus zum Dom is located directly behind St. Stephen's Cathedral and cannot be overlooked.

2. Breakfast and Viennese coffee houses

The best way to celebrate Valentine's Day in Vienna is with a Viennese breakfast, a Viennese Melange, and a visit to a Viennese coffee house. In addition to the classic Viennese coffee houses (Café Hawelka, Café Schwarzenber,g or Café Central), other traditional coffee houses exude nostalgia and pure romance. Our recommendations are:

  • Café Gerstner (The finest cakes and slices, delicious strudels and cakes, great confectionery works of art and small spontaneous treats characterize the traditional Café Gerstner. The confectionery was founded in 1847 - and has even been a purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court since 1873. Purveyor to the Court)
  • Café Goldegg (The classic Art Nouveau-style Café Goldegg was founded in 1910 and served as a meeting place for persecuted trade unionists and revolutionary socialists during the Nazi era until May 1941. It impresses with its impressive wall paneling, black marble tables, and brass chandeliers).
  • Café Landtmann (probably Vienna's most elegant coffee house: lively and cozy, stylish and charming. In this listed coffee house dating back to 1873, tradition is lived and modernity is welcomed. Here you can take a seat on original Thonet armchairs from the imperial era or in one of the cozy heritage-protected lounges).
