35 Jahre Mauerfall: Ayfer, living next to the Berlin wall

Ayfer is 14 years old when she moves with her family right next to the Berlin Wall. From the third floor of the family apartment, she could watch the events unfold day in, day out. One story in particular has remained in her memory.

35 Jahre Mauerfall: Manuel, he was fast asleep

Manuel was just 12 years old and sleeping soundly when the Wall fell in Berlin. The first trip two days after the fall of the Wall was to the Lüneburg Heath to visit his aunt and grandparents.

Thilo lived about 200 meters from the Wall as the crow flies in the northernmost part of Berlin Reinickendorf. The border was a daily part of his life.
