Festival: Silent Film Live

September 4–14, 2025

Under the motto “100 Years of Silent Film!”, the Babylon cinema is showing films that are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. “The extensive and diverse program proves that 1925 was a good year for silent films. Buster Keaton, Emil Jannings, Greta Garbo, Florence Vidor, Douglas Fairbanks, Betty Bronson, and other big names in cinema appear in the 25 films that will be shown during this year's festival.”

Tag des offenen Denkmals (Open Monument Day)

September 13–14, 2025

Every year in September, historic buildings and sites that are otherwise not accessible or only partially accessible open their doors to the public. In Berlin, more than 300 monuments will once again take part in 2025. Visitors can take part in guided tours, during which monument conservators talk about their work using specific examples. Archaeologists, restorers, and craftsmen also demonstrate their everyday work on and with monuments.

Pumpkin and Apple Festival in Britzer Garten

September 21, 2025

The Britzer Garten will once again host the Pumpkin Festival this year, featuring giant pumpkins and large straw figures. Visitors can discover a wide variety of pumpkin varieties and learn more about pumpkins. For the first time, apples will also be celebrated at this year's festival in the Britzer Garten. On Sunday, there will once again be activities for children to participate in, such as pumpkin carving and kite building. Various pumpkin products will be on offer at the large market square, and visitors can watch show cooking and other events on the festival stage."

Festival of Giant Kites

September 27, 2025

Octopuses with meter-long legs and giant geckos in bright colors: at the ninth Giant Kite Festival in Berlin, unique kites up to 50 meters long will provide a flying spectacle above Tempelhofer Feld. "In addition to demonstrations of large kites by around 80 professional kite pilots, there will be interesting information about kite flying. A stage program with music and talks will provide variety, while younger visitors will be entertained with kite-making, candy drops, bouncy castles, and face painting."
