Time Travel Vienna
What was Vienna like during the Habsburg era? And what was life like in the city during the plague or World War II? At Time Travel Vienna, a roughly one-hour tour takes you through 2,000 years of the city’s history with 5D cinema, animatronic shows, virtual reality, and special effects. Shows begin every 20 minutes. Audio guides are available in 10 additional languages for all shows.

Dialogue in the Dark
What happens when you suddenly can no longer see? In “Dialog in the Dark,” blind and visually impaired guides lead visitors through various everyday situations—all in complete darkness. The experience, which takes place in a space of about 600 m², includes navigating street traffic, a store, and a bar. Various sounds, wind, and different floor surfaces enrich the range of sensory experiences.

A dinner, a murder, and you right in the middle of it all: At “Dinner with a Murder,” every guest is assigned a role and becomes part of the story. Instead of just watching, you’ll gather clues, observe suspects, and work together to figure out what happened. A stylish setting, a staged dinner, and a deadly mystery that unfolds live. Two different stories are on the program every month.

Vienna Design Week
September 25 – October 4
The 20th edition of Vienna Design Week runs through October 4. At various locations throughout Vienna, the focus is on furniture, architecture, materials, craftsmanship, and social issues. Exhibitions, workshops, talks, and guided tours showcase the diversity of design. This year, the festival’s main venue is the office tower at Hietzinger Kai 101—designed by Harry Glück and located right next to the Unter-St.-Veit subway station.

Wiener Kaiser Wiesn
until October 11
Through October 11, the Wiener Kaiser Wiesn in the Prater will be buzzing with festive fun: The Wiener Kaiser Wiesn brings together three festival tents and five alpine huts, featuring live music, Austrian cuisine, and traditional customs. Admission to the grounds is free during the day, but you’ll need a ticket for the evening events in the tents.

Viennale
October 22 – November 3
From October 22 through November 3, Vienna will once again be all about international cinema. The Viennale brings films from various countries and genres to Vienna’s movie theaters. The full program will be released on October 13, and advance ticket sales begin on October 17.
