THEATER IM PALAIS BERLIN, directed by Alina Gause, is a musical salon theater in the historic Palais am Festungsgraben in Berlin-Mitte, which paints a diverse and lively picture of Berlin. The theater's repertoire currently includes 16 in-house productions, mainly world premieres, which are performed alternately from Wednesday to Sunday. In its musical theater productions, scenic portraits, and literary-musical productions, famous or forgotten Berliners are rediscovered and events in the city's history that are particularly relevant to our times are unearthed. The theater's trademarks include the BERLINER PERSÖNLICHKEITEN and BERLINER GESCHICHTEN series, as well as the annual HEIMAT_KUNST festival week in June, which focuses on a specific theme.
The theater's repertoire is complemented by selected guest performances with a Berlin connection, special cultural policy events, for example in cooperation with “Pro Quote Bühne” and “Pro Quote Film” for gender equality in theater and film, and, last but not least, by the annual Berlinale special program in cooperation with Pott Cast NRW with high-profile guests from film and television.
