Vienna’s Largest Children’s Theater

Since it was started in 1980, Vienna’s largest puppet theater – Lilarum –  has been staging puppet shows for children aged 3 and older. Founder and artistic director Traude Kossatz’s style characterises the repertoire, and over the years has grown to become the hallmark of the theater.

Every theater season the Lilarum has nearly 400 shows are put on for about 40,000 visitors (Sept. – June). The program focuses particularly on the theater’s 40 own productions, although Lilarum also regularly welcomes national and international guest artists.
