What makes LILARUM special

The way in which the plays are staged is also special: The five professional puppeteers remain invisible to the audience. The voices of the puppets are recorded by actors (including Michael Niavarani, Mavie Hörbiger and Robert Palfrader) before the premiere. The music is also composed exclusively for the plays and recorded in advance. In this way, each play becomes an interdisciplinary work of art combining visual arts, music and performing arts.

Program at LILARUM

The performances at LILARUM are suitable for children aged 3 and over. From mid-September to mid-June, 10 productions from the repertoire are shown, including at least one new production. In addition, national and international artists regularly make guest appearances at LILARUM. Over 35,000 visitors attend the 350 or so performances. You can find our program here!

In addition to its performances, the LILARUM takes its social responsibility as a cultural institution seriously. The theater, awarded the Austrian Ecolabel, attaches great importance to ecological, economic, and social sustainability.
