Practical information & duration of visit

Plan to spend around 60–90 minutes on your visit; this will give you time to relax and enjoy the 14 rooms and take photos. Tickets are usually sold as time slots — it's best to arrive 10–15 minutes before your booked time to ensure smooth admission. Large bags and backpacks are often impractical in exhibition spaces; leave your jackets and bags at the cloakroom on site. As IKONO is centrally located on Alexanderplatz, we recommend traveling by public transport (underground, suburban railway, tram), as parking spaces are limited in the city center.

Tips for families, accessibility, and photography rules

IKONO is well suited for families and visitors of all ages, but some rooms are very narrow or have a strong visual/acoustic design—this can be intense for small children or people with sensory sensitivities. Many areas are largely barrier-free, but individual installations may have steps or narrow passageways; if you have specific questions, it is worth contacting us in advance by email. Photos for private use are permitted; please refrain from using flash photography in sensitive areas and respect other guests when taking photos.
