Step inside the Illuseum Berlin – Where illusions protect the oceans
Welcome to the Illuseum Berlin—a place where nothing is as it seems. Perspectives shift, spaces tilt, and perception becomes an exciting journey of discovery. But today, there is more to these fascinating illusions than mere entertainment: The Illuseum Berlin combines wonder and interactivity with a clear message about protecting our oceans.
Illusions change our perception—and that is precisely what makes them a unique medium for drawing attention to the beauty and vulnerability of our oceans. Visitors not only immerse themselves in a world full of surprising perspectives but also discover new ways of looking at the environment and responsibility. The Illuseum in Berlin is suitable for all ages
At the Illuseum Berlin, curiosity, wonder, and shared discovery are expressly encouraged. Whether it’s tilted rooms, astonishing holograms, or fascinating shifts in perspective, the exhibition invites people of all ages to challenge their senses and playfully explore how our perception works. At the same time, some installations offer new perspectives on the beauty and vulnerability of our oceans.
The Illuseum’s philosophy is simple: you’re never too old to be captivated by illusions. Visitors can experience how people seem to grow or shrink, how spaces lose their logic, or how the eye is surprised by optical illusions. The result is an experience that is equally fun and thought-provoking, inviting us to view our world—and our oceans—with fresh eyes.
Experience illusions—and learn to see anew
The Illuseum Berlin is filled with surprising installations and interactive experience spaces. Visitors can, for example, step into the famous Ames room, walk through the fascinating Vortex tunnel, or take spectacular illusion photos in the inverted room.
A new feature is the connection between perception and environmental awareness: Some installations address topics such as plastic pollution, overfishing, or climate change and creatively demonstrate how easily our perception can be influenced—and how important it is to look more closely.
Another highlight is the collaboration with local artists from Berlin. They are developing installations specifically for the Illuseum that combine art, illusion, and marine conservation, thereby fostering an exciting dialogue between creativity, science, and visitors.
Illusions that really make a difference
A portion of the Illuseum Berlin’s profits is specifically donated to organizations and activists working to protect the oceans. This way, every visit is not only a fascinating experience, but also a small contribution to the protection of our oceans.
