Globe Museum

The Austrian National Library's Globe Museum is the only one of its kind in the world. Housed in the listed Palais Mollard, it presents around 250 valuable terrestrial and celestial globes from the 16th century to the present day. There are also globes of the Earth's moon and various planets to discover, as well as instruments in which globes form an integral part, such as planetariums, telluriums and lunariums.

In the permanent exhibition, you will learn about key aspects of the Earth and the sky. You will be given an introduction to the various methods of producing globes in handcrafted quality and their development over the centuries. Valuable terrestrial and celestial globes by Gerard Mercator from the 1500s are just one of the highlights alongside the unique collection of globes.

Esperantomuseum

The Esperanto Museum of the Austrian National Library is one of the most significant of its kind worldwide: It presents not only a large collection of media and objects in and about Esperanto, the world's most successful planned language but also countless other invented languages, such as Klingon from the TV cult series “Star Trek”.
