Welcome to the Vienna Circus and Clown Museum

The Circus and Clown Museum impressively shows the history of domestic and international entertainers such as clowns, artists, magicians and freaks. Visitors can also learn interesting facts about their areas of activity such as the Vienna Prater, Circuses and other establishments.

The Circus and Clown Museum sees itself as a living place. And so there is an extensive program of events in addition to the exhibition. Magic shows for adults and children take place regularly. Talks with well-known personalities, readings and musical performances are also on the program.

“An archive of real dreams and dreamed reality” … is how André Heller once described our museum. Experience the story of the amusing arts. We preserve unique artifacts from the past, but we also want to look to the future. That is why we present the forgotten arts of clowns, jugglers, magicians, ventriloquists, animal trainers and acrobats.
