Halloween Berlin 2026
Some people say Berlin is already spooky enough. It is too loud, too crowded, and has strange characters. Does it need Halloween? Of course. We've looked for you at the best places to get spooked on Halloween in Berlin and tell you what else you need to know about Halloween in Berlin.
- Is Halloween a public holiday in Berlin?
- Where can I find the right Halloween costume?

1. Is Halloween a public holiday in Berlin?
- Unfortunately not
Well, that would be nice. However, Halloween is not a public holiday in any federal state. However, Reformation Day also begins on October 31. This means that Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia as well as Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein do have the day off and a public holiday. Unfortunately, Berlin does not.

- Deiters at Alexanderplatz
- Maskworld online
- Costume rentals, costume stores
You can't have Halloween without a costume. If you still need something suitable, you will find a huge selection of costumes at Deiters on Alexanderplatz (Rathausstraße 5, 10178 Berlin). On over 2,000 square meters you will find Halloween costumes of all kinds.
Unfortunately, MASKWORLD's store in Oranienburger Straße 86A, 10178 Berlin. But you can find everything your Halloween heart desires online as well. Fake blood, colorful contact lenses, make-up, special effects... nothing stands in the way of a spooky night.
Berlin also has numerous costume rentals and costume stores. Fashion, accessories, historical costumes, wigs, Halloween, 20s, etc.... You can find an overview of costumes with that special something in Berlin here.

Special Blackout Events in the Dungeon
If the regular tour isn't enough for you, you can experience the Berlin Dungeon in near-total darkness with new, dark tales after official closing hours during the 18+ Special Events.
Duration: 30–80 min
Upcoming events: Oct. 30/Oct. 31, 2026
What to expect:
"At the Berlin Dungeon Black Outs, you’ll be plunged into total darkness—and you’ll be on your own. Enter the corridors and dungeons alone or with friends and encounter creepy creatures like disfigured experiments or—even worse—other guests.
This isn’t just a horror maze. It’s a hunt.
What lurks in the shadows is not human—at least, not anymore. The Doctor had a lot of fun with his human-insect hybrid experiments, but things got out of hand.
With just a small light that we’ll give you, you’ll have to find your way out. While the light helps you see the path better, insects are known to be attracted to light.
This exclusive 18+ experience is aimed at anyone seeking the extreme."
Please note the following admission rules:
This is an intense event designed exclusively for adults. It may overwhelm multiple senses at once. The professional actors portray the scenarios realistically: from absolute darkness to a loud, immersive soundscape. For this reason, this event is only suitable for visitors 18 years of age and older. For safety reasons, this event is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
All guests must present valid identification at the ticket counter. Acceptable forms of identification include an ID card, driver’s license, or passport.
