At the Samurai Museum Berlin, you can learn more about the history and culture of the Japanese samurai. Approximately 1,000 original artifacts on display include armor, swords, masks, woodblock prints, and ceramics from various eras. Interactive projections and touchscreens bring the exhibits to life and allow visitors to experience the history of the samurai firsthand.

2026 Women's Basketball World Cup
September 4–13, 2026
The Women's Basketball World Cup will take place in Berlin from September 4 to 13, 2026. Sixteen national teams will compete for the title at the Uber Arena and the Max-Schmeling-Halle. Germany will face Spain, Japan, and Mali in the group stage. The final will be held on September 13.

Festival of Giant Kites
September 12, 2026
On September 12, 2026, Tempelhofer Feld will be transformed into a colorful world of kites from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. International kite flyers will showcase kites up to 50 meters in size. There will also be live music, activities for children, and hands-on experiences. Admission is free.

Pumpkin and Apple Festival at Britzer Garten
September 20, 2026
On September 20, 2026, everything at Britzer Garten will revolve around pumpkins and apples. You can look forward to giant pumpkins, large straw figures, pumpkin carving, kite-making, cooking demonstrations, and a market featuring a variety of pumpkin products. The festival will take place from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Berlin-Marathon
September 27, 2026
The BMW Berlin Marathon will take place on September 27, 2026. More than 40,000 runners from around 120 countries will take part. The 42.195-kilometer course winds through several Berlin districts and passes many well-known landmarks. The start and finish are located on Straße des 17. Juni.

Fujiko Nakaya: Fog Sculpture in the Sculpture Garden

Fujiko Nakaya’s mist sculpture in the sculpture garden of the Neue Nationalgalerie transforms water mist into a unique artistic experience. Visitors can walk right through the ever-changing sculpture made of fine mist and experience how architecture, nature, and art merge. The installation will be on view through October 25, 2026.
