Photographic Art Meets Berlin Charm: What Is Fotografiska Berlin?

Fotografiska Berlin is a museum of contemporary photography spanning approximately 5,500 m² in the historic Kunsthaus Tacheles in Berlin-Mitte. Spread across several floors, you’ll find rotating exhibitions by international and Berlin-based photographers, complemented by a restaurant, bars, and a concept store. It’s open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.—including Sundays.

Fotografiska Berlin is a vibrant hub for photographic art, creative inspiration, and cultural exchange. You’ll discover works by international masters and up-and-coming Berlin talent—atmospherically staged and open to dialogue. What makes it special: You can bring your drink into the exhibition, dogs are allowed, and with hours until 11 p.m., your visit fits into any schedule—whether at noon, after work, or late at night. With EasyCityPass Berlin, you get a 15% discount on the regular admission price*.

What was this building in the past? — From Tacheles to Fotografiska

Fotografiska Berlin is located in the former Kunsthaus Tacheles on Oranienburger Straße—one of Berlin’s most famous cultural venues. Originally built in 1908 as the Friedrichstraßenpassage, the building became a symbol of Berlin’s free art scene after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The original, preserved facades and artfully preserved graffiti in the stairwell combine architectural elegance with the raw charm of the former artists’ house, making a visit here an architectural experience as well.
