Is Vienna the center of Europe?
Vienna is often considered to be located in Central Europe, as Austria is a Central European country and Vienna has a central location for important transport routes and plays an important role in Eastern Europe. The exact geographical center of Europe is defined in different ways, but Vienna is located at a point that is considered to be the “heart of Europe.” According to current calculations, the center of the European continent is located in the village of Purnuškės in Lithuania.

United Nations in Vienna
There are 4 United Nations headquarters worldwide: New York, Geneva, and Nairobi. The fourth headquarters has been located in Vienna since 1979. The Vienna International Center (VIC) in Donaustadt is the location of the United Nations in Vienna. Among the Viennese, the VIC is better known as UNO City. The UN is a major employer in Vienna: over 5,000 employees from more than 125 countries work here. A total of almost 20 international offices and organizations of the UN family are housed in the VIC.

EXPERIENCE EUROPA Vienna
The free permanent exhibition is located between Stephansplatz and Schwedenplatz and lets you experience Europe in a whole new way. Here you can learn more about European democracy and its impact on your daily life.
The immersive multimedia stations with the augmented reality area, a 360° cinema, and a role-playing game are innovative. You can see for yourself how European politics is shaped and, of course, how you can become active yourself. All in 24 languages.
There is a 360° cinema where you can experience a plenary session of the European Parliament. You can play a simulation game and become an MEP or a member of the European Commission. Café Europa
Located in the 7th district, Café Europa could also be described as the district's "extended living room". It's easy to feel at home here, and no wonder, as hot food is available until 4 am.
Cafe Europa has been a regular on the Viennese scene for many years. It defies all odds and still retains its coolness factor. It's a cozy café, not fancy-pants, but communicative. You can quickly strike up a conversation with other guests at the long bar. Of course, the cocktails are not to be sneezed at either. If you're up for a night out in Vienna, you can still get a hot meal here late into the night. The kitchen is open until 4 am. For balmy summer evenings, we recommend the adjoining garden in Zollergasse, which has now established itself as a popular place to go out.
Address: Zollergasse 8, 1070 Vienna
