Berlin and its beer gardens for EURO 2024

Berlin has 53 beer gardens, putting it in second place in Germany. Only Saxony-Anhalt has ten more beer gardens. Incidentally, there are a total of 3,077 beer gardens in Germany. During the European Football Championship EURO 2024, the European Championship matches will be broadcast live in many beer gardens. The outdoor areas may also remain open until the final whistle of the matches. A corresponding decree was issued at short notice by the Senator for the Environment. We have listed here where you can cheer for your favorite team together with other soccer fans.

1. Prater

The Pratergarten is the oldest beer garden in Berlin and a popular meeting place for Berliners and tourists alike. It was opened back in 1837, when Prenzlauer Berg was still undeveloped and characterized by fields and mills. Today it is surrounded by tenements and offers a green oasis in the middle of the city. The spacious outdoor area is shaded by chestnut trees, creating a cozy atmosphere. The menu includes classic German beer garden dishes such as pretzels, sausages and, more recently, pork knuckle and refreshing draught beers.

During the European Championships, the matches will be shown on large screens. Reservations are not possible, but it is advisable to arrive early to get a good seat, especially as the screens are not visible from all seats.

2. Zenner

The Zenner is located directly on the Spree in Treptower Park and offers a wonderful view of the river. The spacious beer garden extends over several terraces and offers numerous seating options, both in the shade and in the sun. The location by the water is particularly attractive and creates a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to freshly tapped beer, there is a wide selection of snacks and hearty meals - the Zenner has really great food for a beer garden. We particularly recommend the Königsberger Klopse.

During the European Championships, Zenner becomes a meeting place for soccer fans, who can watch the games on two large screens. Here, too, the rule is: arrive early and secure your seats. Table reservations are only possible for groups of at least 20 people.

3. The BRLO Brwhouse

The BRLO Brwhouse is not only an EasyCityPass Berlin partner but also the ideal beer garden for anyone looking for a cozy place to relax after work in the middle of the city. The BRLO Brwhouse is made from 38 used shipping containers from all over the world. Located in the middle of the Gleisdreieck park, the connection to public transport is just one advantage. There's beer from the brewery's own brewery, deckchairs in the sand, and food trucks for a snack in between. Unfortunately, reservations are no longer possible. However, there is still enough space for a spontaneous visit if you arrive in good time. Public viewing takes place in all weathers, there are covered areas.

4. freiheit fünfzehn

Köpenick is Berlin's greenest and most water-rich district. It's no wonder that this beer garden is located right on the water and is considered by many to be the most beautiful place in Köpenick. The view of the water is particularly beautiful in the evening. A lovingly tended garden, deckchairs to put your feet up, a cool drink in your hand: it feels like a mini vacation in the middle of the city. During the European Championships, the rustic beer garden becomes the ultimate fan zone when the German national team takes to the pitch.

5. Zollpackhof in theRegierungsviertel

Not far from the government district, in the countryside, and close to the Spree, the beer garden with its tall chestnut trees beckons. It was Berlin's first restaurant as early as 1700. So it's no wonder that the overall architectural concept was based on old building plans from the turn of the century. After a lengthy renovation phase (2014-2016), the historic complex is now shining again and attracts guests from all over the world. The cuisine is a colorful mix of Austrian and German cuisine with Mediterranean influences. If it doesn't turn out to be a summer fairytale and we have to contend with snow, there is a 360° circular fireplace inside the restaurant (the cat on the stove bench is also part of the inventory).

During the European Championships, all matches will be shown live in the beer garden. Reservations are accepted from 8 people via mail@zollpackhof.de. If you are less than 8 people, you can choose your own seat.

6. Zollhaus Pankow

This wonderful beer garden in the middle of Prenzlauer Berg is a real gem, and not just during the European Championships. For all those who long for their last vacation in Napoli, this place can help. The pizza is simply unique. It is baked with a sourdough that is fermented for 24 hours. This makes the sourdough much more digestible than normal yeast dough. The slightly higher edge is typical. If this is slightly burnt, it is definitely a sign of quality. As is customary in Italy, the pizza is eaten with your hands and you are given a pizza peel. Of course, you can also ask for cutlery. The pizza tastes just as good.

The European Championship games are shown on the 1st floor.

Editor's tip: be sure to try the burrata pizza! Important: you can only pay by credit or debit card at Zollhaus. You can't use cash here and the only way to pay the bill is with the kitchen service.

Address: Berliner Strasse 80, 13189 Berlin

7. Jungfernheide forest high ropes course

We have another EasyCityPass Berlin partner where you can not only watch sports, but also get active yourself. The forest high ropes course is located in Volkspark Jungfernheide, Berlin's second largest public park. The park also has a lido, a petting zoo, children's playground and, of course, the forest high ropes course. The climbing forest is located in a 144-hectare mixed forest with 30-metre-high beech, birch, oak and robinia trees. Depending on which parkour you choose, you can climb between 3 and 17 meters into the trees - always secured, of course, but with your own muscle power.

In a separate area, the European Championship soccer matches of the German national team are broadcast on large-screen televisions measuring 65-85 inches. There is enough space for families and children to enjoy themselves. The broadcast is free of charge, but reservations must be made via the website due to the limited number of seats.

Access: Bus 109, 123, M21 Weltlingerbrücke, U7 Jakob Kaiser Platz oder Halemweg

8. Revier Südost - Baergarten

Not only the spelling is special, but also the program. Because the Baergarten is no ordinary beer garden. In addition to chilled drinks, pizza and music, there are also various art and cultural events. It is simply an art and culture beer garden.

From June 14, the European Championship matches of all groups, from the round of 16 to the final, will be shown on the big screen.

9. James June

This beer garden is somewhat hidden and is located in the middle of the almost 3 km long and 90 m wide Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin's Friedrichshain district, between Alexanderplatz and Frankfurter Tor. Surrounded by shady trees, it's the perfect place to escape from everyday life. Enjoy the freshly tapped Pilsner Urquell tank beer alongside delicacies from the grill, juicy burgers, and wafer-thin pizza.

The European Championship will be broadcast on several large screens and monitors. To be sure of a seat, it is best to book via the website.
