Learn About the Dark Side of Human History

The Torture Museum provides information on the dark side of human history. With vivid and impressively powerful exhibits. The development of European law since ancient times is presented on around 800 m² of exhibition space. Some 100 exhibits explain how torture and cruelty have played a role in this up to the present day.

Torture Today

The Torture Museum is based upon well-documented historical methods of torture, and our original exhibits are extended through the incorporation of academic texts, as well as tapestries and illustrations. Furthermore, our exhibits are currently accompanied by a special exhibition on “Torture Today” by Amnesty International.
